Mountains Of The Moon is an eco friendly fashion line based in Chicago that creates eco-friendly, sustainable, high-quality and fashionable apparel for the environmentally concsious fashionistas.

Mountains Of The Moon was created by Melissa Baswell who has had a love for the earth and fashion since childhood. She grew up designing clothes first for her dolls, then her herself ( from recycled and natural fabrics) and ultimately created Mountains of the Moon after graduating from University of Wisconsin- Madison. 

Mountains Of The Moon has been named as one of America's Green Business of the Year and their designs made directly from recycled candy wrappers were shown in Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art.

Mountains Of The Moon use hemp, organic cotton and tencel to make their exquisite clothing. Their dedication to the earth goes beyond using sustainable fabrics for they also partake in organizations such as the Carbon Fund, Oxfam, Conscious Alliance, the International Tibet Independence Movement, the Red Door Animal Shelter and the Organic School Project. They also work very closely with Climate Cycle, a non-profit organization that tries to teach others about the environmental issues.
